Helloo there….a few days back , I was having a conversation with my sister. She is 1 year my senior (and hence 1 year wiser as she keeps reminding me) and had recently moved in to a new city. We were chatting casually and I asked as to what she liked doing now a days to which she humorously replied “I like cleaning the house to an obsessive level.”

While I laughed at it then, I realized that how throughout the years the topic of our conversation had changed. Starting from power rangers to college gossips and now about how efficient cleaning robots are and why cloud security is the upcoming thing. It will be fair to say that we have come a long way.

The age of 22- 30 is a bumpy ride for most. In this age group we are termed as “young” but at the same time are considered “old enough” also. Confusing right? It is during this age where everyone of us is trying to make sense of things in our own way. Most of us are figuring out careers to take in long run, Family Business, Corporate, Government Exam or Higher Studies. During this phase some new relationships are made and some break. You pay your own bills, do your own laundry, or are trying to look for a PG or a hostel in your city. So many things going on at the same time!!

Adulting is this process of becoming an adult or behaving like an adult. Taking responsibilities is not at all easy. It’s a 180 degree shift from the easy and light hearted campus life. Its one hell of a ride.

With the advent of social media, we now have a window through which we are able to peep in others life. Someone getting married, somebody getting their dream job and another one is trekking in Leh-Ladakh. This can be a bit discouraging, and may lead to self-doubt. You may repeatedly ask yourself as to what you are doing in your life . Many people relate to that scene from MS Dhoni biopic where he is sitting at the railway platform thinking what to do. Which train to leave and which one to board.

I believe everybody boards a different train and as long as you keep moving ahead, sooner or later we all are gonna reach our destinations and as one of my friends said it very aptly “It doesn’t matter whether you reach early or late as far as you reach the correct destination.” So maybe just enjoy the view while you are at it right ?

I hope many of you might have related to it and enjoyed reading. Do tell about your experience on adulting. See you in the next one!!
